Basketball Recap: Baxter Springs Takes a Loss

Baxter Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 56-37 fall against the Galena Bulldogs. The Lions were probably out for revenge after losing 45-13 to them when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Galena moved to 1-3 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Baxter Springs will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Girard on January 7, 2025. Girard will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Baxter Springs surely won't give up without a fight. Galena also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Frontenac at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
