Basketball Game Preview: True North Classical Academy Titans vs. Elite Academy Eagles

The True North Classical Academy Titans and the Elite Academy Eagles will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in True North Classical Academy's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Elite Academy has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

Last Saturday, True North Classical Academy ended up a good deal behind Central Pointe Christian Academy and lost 63-47. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while the CPCA are ranked 17th).

True North Classical Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Danny Gonzalez, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 15 points, and Cj Gonzalez, who went 6 of 14 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Boosie Swan, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Elite Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 61-57 to Somerset Academy.

True North Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Elite Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
