Softball Recap: Harpeth Gets the Win

Harpeth won against Hickman County last Tuesday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Indians had just enough and edged out the Fairview Yellowjackets 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Yellowjackets two weeks ago, they had to take a 11-10 defeat.

Cameron Hayes was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

The victory made it two in a row for Harpeth and bumps their season record up to 6-10-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Hickman County and 6-11 Fairview. As for Fairview, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harpeth will head out to challenge Hickman County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Fairview, they will challenge Sycamore at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the War Eagles will have lost four straight heading into Tuesday's contest.
