Football Recap: John Paul II Guardians vs. Geneva Eagles
John Paul II lost against Geneva back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Guardians had to suffer through a 49-6 loss at the hands of the Eagles. The Guardians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Eddie Wadas threw for 27 yards. Jacob Wisneski was his top target, picking up 27 receiving yards. On the ground, Drake Kapavik rushed for 139 yards and one score on only 13 carries.
A big part of Geneva's victory came down to the chemistry between Caleb Quitadamo and his top target Shae McNew. Quitadamo threw for 224 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes while McNew rushed for 164 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries. Quitadamo is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for four or more in each of the last four games he's played.
John Paul II's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Geneva, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Looking ahead, John Paul II will venture away from home to take on Ben Bolt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Geneva, they will welcome Holy Cross at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
