Geneseo posted their closest win since October 19, 2024 on Wednesday. They won by a set and slipped past the Orion Chargers 2-1. The victory was nothing new for the Maple Leafs as they're now sitting on three straight.

Geneseo had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-18, 25-13.

Despite the loss, Orion saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Khloe Nelson had 15 assists and nine digs. Nelson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more assists the last three times she's played.

Geneseo's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Orion, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Geneseo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Galesburg on the 18th. As for Orion, they will host Riverdale at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
