Recap: Bard Falcons vs. Jackson-Reed Tigers
On Wednesday, the Bard Falcons faced the Jackson-Reed Tigers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bard had to suffer through a rough 68-3 loss at the hands of Jackson-Reed. The loss means Bard is still on the hunt for the season's first 'W'.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jackson-Reed to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aminyah Muhammed, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Muhammed hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Sara Mesikir was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Bard's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Jackson-Reed, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bard will take on Eastern at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jackson-Reed, they will head out on the road to challenge Cardozo at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Cardozo comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 13 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
