Recap: Nevada Union Miners vs. Oakmont Vikings
The Nevada Union Miners won the last time they faced the Oakmont Vikings, and things went their way on Friday too. Nevada Union blew past Oakmont 45-7 on the road. The result was nothing new for Nevada Union, who have now won three contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Bodey Eelkema was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Carter Van Matre made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Nevada Union now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Oakmont, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Nevada Union will look to defend their home field on Friday against Ponderosa at 7:00 p.m. As for Oakmont, they will head out on the road to face off against Placer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Placer will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
