Volleyball Recap: Columbus Triumphs

Columbus posted their closest victory since August 6th on Saturday. They won by a set and slipped past the St. Pius X Catholic Golden Lions 2-1. This was payback for the Blue Devils, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Columbus got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The final score came out to 28-30, 25-23, 15-8.

Payton McNeil was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 11 digs. Those 11 digs gave her a new career-high.

The win made it two in a row for Columbus and bumps their season record up to 7-8. As for St. Pius X Catholic, they dropped their record down to 8-4 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Columbus didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Gainesville on the 23rd. As for St. Pius X Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Mount Vernon on the 23rd.
