Recap: James F. Byrnes Rebels vs. Gaffney Indians
The James F. Byrnes Rebels can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 93-66 win over Gaffney at home. The win was familiar territory for James F. Byrnes who now have seven in a row.
Evan Enos went supernova for James F. Byrnes, going 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Enos has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Colt Fowler, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Gaffney lost, one person who can't be blamed is Markell Hollis. Despite the final result, he scored 31 points along with two blocks. Another player making a difference was Rickey Littlejohn, who scored 11 points along with five assists.
James F. Byrnes has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. As for Gaffney, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. James F. Byrnes will face off against Spartanburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Spartanburg will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 45th, while James F. Byrnes is ranked fifth). As for Gaffney, they will head out on the road to square off against Hillcrest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hillcrest is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
