Baseball Recap: Brunswick Takes Down Ranked Mt. Ararat

Brunswick faced Mt. Ararat in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Dragons narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eagles 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Dragons: when they faced off against the Eagles back in May, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Allan Swain was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Henry Blood, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May. Jimmy Cook was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Brunswick's record is now 10-6. As for Mt. Ararat, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-3.

As of now, neither Brunswick nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
