Basketball Recap: Joel Sanders Key Part of a Team Effort in Alices Win

There's no place like home for Vincennes Lincoln, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They secured a 63-58 W over the Evansville Harrison Warriors on Friday. For the Alices, this counts as revenge for the 63-54 victory the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Vincennes Lincoln's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joel Sanders led the charge by going 5 for 12 on his way to 17 points. Sanders' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joshua Clegg, who posted 12 points and four steals.

Loss or not, Evansville Harrison got some senior leadership from Shane Sims and Brooks Thomas. Sims went 10 of 14 en route to 25 points and five rebounds, while Thomas went 7 for 11 on his way to 17 points and seven boards. The dominant performance also gave Thomas a new career-high in assists (four). Ty Speer was another key player, putting up eight points and five assists.

Vincennes Lincoln has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Evansville Harrison, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5.
