Softball Recap: Waco Comes Up Short

Waco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the University Trojans, falling 24-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 19-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Waco's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for University, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-7-1.

Waco and University could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Lions will face off against Belton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (955 vs. 232). Meanwhile, University (ranked 315th) will meet Lake Belton (ranked 25th) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
