Game recap: Baldwin High School Football Team beats St. James Academy

BALDWIN, Kan. - Baldwin (Kan.) jumped out to an early lead against St. James Academy (Lenexa, Kan.) and never looked back on the way to a 56-18 victory on Saturday.

The Bulldogs scored 20 points in the first quarter. Baldwin scored on a rushing touchdown, a passing touchdown and a touchdown pass by Chad Berg.

After taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter, BHS was up 33-16 at the half.

The Bulldogs grew their lead to 39 points entering the fourth quarter. Baldwin scored three times in the third, including once on a Berg touchdown run.



BHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 35-21.

The defeat comes as a step back for St. James Academy, who notched a 50-13 victory over Bishop Ward in its previous outing. With the win the Bulldogs extended their winning streak to three games.
