Basketball Recap: Rocori Comes Up Short

After soaring to 65 points the game before, Rocori was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were outmatched by the Alexandria Cardinals and fell 74-24. The matchup marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Alexandria to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chase Thompson, who went 8-for-13 en route to 18 points. The game was Thompson's fifth in a row with at least 18 points. Mason Witt was another key player, going 6-for-10 to rack up 17 points.

Rocori has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Alexandria, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-3.

Looking ahead, Rocori will challenge Brainerd at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alexandria, they have already played their next contest, a 96-94 win against Orono on the 15th.
