Volleyball Recap: Lafayette Triumphs

Lafayette saw some tournament action on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Morgan County Cougars.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Lafayette was: they took both sets by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-8.

Payton Watts was the offensive standout of the match as she had six digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last seven contests.

Watts wasn't the only good servers: Lafayette was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in seven consecutive matchups.

Lafayette's victory bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Morgan County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-17.

Lafayette didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Boyd County on the 10th. As for Morgan County, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Whitley County on the 11th.
