Basketball Recap: Campbell County Starts off Right with Win over Oliver Springs

Campbell County took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 72-61 win over the Oliver Springs Bobcats. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bobcats, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Campbell County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jake Hatmaker, who posted 15 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hunter Dotson, who had 11 points along with seven boards and four steals.

When it comes to explaining why Oliver Springs lost, don't look at Ethan Jones. Despite the final result, he shot 50% from the field en route to 26 points. Karson Seeber was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven rebounds.

Oliver Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Campbell County will square off against Lenoir City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oliver Springs, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Knoxville Central at 8:00 p.m. on December 1.
