Basketball Recap: Blake Comes Up Short

Blake fought the good fight in their overtime contest against King on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the King Lions 46-41. The Yellow Jackets were not able to make up for their loss to the Lions from their previous meeting back in November of 2022.

King's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mariah Pinkney led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards. Pinkney continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Julianna Smalls, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.

Blake now has a losing record at 6-7. As for King, their win ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-11.

Blake has already played their next game (against Sumner), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. King has also has no score uploaded for their next match, this one against Spoto.
