League recap: Tipton tops Delphi Community to extend winning streak

Hoosier recap November 13, 2013

Tipton added to the longest winning streak in Hoosier this week by beating Delphi Community, 37-21. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Blue Devils.

Rensselaer Central took down Bowman Academy 40-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Rylan Arihood ran for 149 yards during the win.

West Lafayette's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Parker Ronchetto threw for 166 and 2 touchdowns and Kyle Turner had 66 yards receiving. On the ground Maurice Woodard contributed 275 yards. Everett Gorup helped West Lafayette's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 30 yards.

Woodard was a beast in the backfield as the Red Devils bested Yorktown.

Ronchetto put up the best numbers through the air as West Lafayette bested the Tigers. Ronchetto's favorite target this week was Turner, who caught 2 passes for 66 yards.

West Lafayette's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Red Devils feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ronchetto has thrown for 2,352 yards and 29 touchdowns this season, while Brandon Watt has 17 catches for 671 yards.

The Oracles made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,530 from 6,692. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 37-21 victory over Delphi Community last week.
