Basketball Recap: Champlain Valley Union Takes Down Ranked South Burlington

On Friday, Champlain Valley Union faced South Burlington in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Champlain Valley Union Redhawks managed a 42-38 victory over the South Burlington Wolves. That's more bragging rights for the Redhawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Champlain Valley Union has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for South Burlington, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-5 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Champlain Valley Union will venture away from home to challenge St. Johnsbury Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
