Flagstaff waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the San Dieguito Academy Mustangs. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Flagstaff's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elise Welker, who had three digs and two aces. What's more, Welker racked up ten assists, the most she's had over her last six matches. Harleigh Moseng also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Despite the loss, San Dieguito Academy still got an impressive performance from Ellie Burr, who had 13 digs. Burr has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more digs the last 11 times she's played.

Flagstaff's win bumped their record up to 24-6. As for San Dieguito Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-20-1 record this season.

Flagstaff wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Liberty on the 11th. As for San Dieguito Academy, they will take on Rancho Bernardo at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
