Baseball Game Preview: Marathon Dolphins vs. Fort Meade Miners

For the second straight game, Marathon will face off against Fort Meade. The Dolphins will be playing at home against the Miners at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Marathon 3.5, Fort Meade 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Marathon heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Monday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fort Meade. The Dolphins' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

For Fort Meade's part, Andrew Brooks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. Brooks has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Owen Harrell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Eli Harrell, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Marathon's loss dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Fort Meade, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-12.
