Basketball Game Preview: Toll Gate Titans vs. Blackstone Valley Prep PRIDE

The Toll Gate Titans will venture away from home to challenge the Blackstone Valley Prep PRIDE at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Toll Gate is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.6 points per game this season.

Toll Gate took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Central Falls 56-54. While the Titans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Toll Gate to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brayden Healey, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Damola Oremosu, who posted 13 points along with six boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Blackstone Valley Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 67-52 bruising from North Smithfield. One positive for the PRIDE, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Toll Gate pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Blackstone Valley Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Toll Gate ended up a good deal behind Blackstone Valley Prep when the teams last played back in February of 2020, losing 67-52. Can Toll Gate avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
