Basketball Preview: Dodge City Demons vs. Great Bend Panthers
Dodge City has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Great Bend Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dodge City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Panthers are ranked 69th).
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Dodge City, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 48-29 loss to the Indians.
Great Bend has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 52-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Liberal on Friday.
Dodge City's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Great Bend, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season.
Dodge City beat the Panthers 43-32 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will Dodge City repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
