Recap: Dixie Flyers vs. Crimson Cliffs Mustangs
The Dixie Flyers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by Crimson Cliffs on the road to the tune of 66-33. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Dixie as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
It was another big night for Hali Smith, who almost dropped a triple-double on 20 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Brinlee Bennett was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Kenadee Richey and Josie Myers certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Richey scored 12 points, while Myers scored six points along with four blocks. Richey is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Colleen Korella, who scored five points along with two steals and two blocks.
The win got Dixie back to even at 9-9. As for Crimson Cliffs, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-13.
Dixie will take on Hurricane at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Hurricane is ranked 44th, while Dixie is ranked 47th). As for Crimson Cliffs, they will head out on the road to take on Snow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Snow Canyon is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 14 games.
