Baseball Recap: Basic Wins High-Profile Game Against Spring Valley

Basic faced Spring Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Wolves walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Grizzlies. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won six in a row.

Elian Ruiz looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Basic got a massive performance out of Tate Southisene, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Southisene has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ace Sapp, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
