Basketball Recap: East Wake Academy Comes Up Short

East Wake Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 63-50 to the NCSSM: Durham Unicorns. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 85-56 back in January.

Leading NCSSM: Durham to victory were Chris Chen and Alex Caza. Chen went 7 for 13 en route to 18 points, while Caza went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points along with six steals and five rebounds. The matchup was Chen's third in a row with at least 17 points. Ethann Burkett was another key player, putting up 14 points.

East Wake Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for NCSSM: Durham, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-7.

East Wake Academy has already played their next game, a 59-50 win against Raleigh Charter on the 7th. As for NCSSM: Durham, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-49 defeat against Wake Prep Academy on the 7th.
