 New Lexington came tearing into  Wednesday's  contest with six straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.2 runs) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  5-4  win over the Sheridan Generals. This was payback for New Lexington, who suffered  a  3-1  loss the last time these two teams met.
 New Lexington saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Lane Baker, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 New Lexington's victory was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 16-2. As for Sheridan, their defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 19-3.
 New Lexington will take on Philo at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. New Lexington's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3  runs per game  this season, so Philo's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Sheridan, they will head out on the road to  take on  Morgan at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Morgan will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  game than the last.
