Bessemer City extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Brandon Gooden Jr. The Tigers came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 19-14 W against the Wenonah Dragons with plenty of help from Gooden Jr, who rushed for 116 yards and one score on only eight carries, and also threw for 122 yards and one TD. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 76-yard run.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Bessemer City's defense and their three sacks. In that department, Emanuel Ruffin was the leader with two.

Bessemer City's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Wenonah, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Bessemer City didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 24-7 victory against Helena on the 7th. Wenonah does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
