Softball Recap: Trona Victorious

While Trona's win against Non Varsity Opponent wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tornadoes skirted past Non Varsity Opponent 11-10. The victory continues a trend for the Tornadoes in their matchups with Non Varsity Opponent: they've now won four in a row.

Lily Mehan made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and eight unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chloe Corrion, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Lilly Finley was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
