Football Game Preview: McDowell Titans vs. St. Stephens Indians + How To Watch

The McDowell Titans will square off against the St. Stephens Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

McDowell made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Alexander Central, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Titans fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 30-28 on Friday. It was the first time this season that the Titans let down their fans at home.

Despite the defeat, McDowell got top-tier performance from Danny Charles Brown, who rushed for 85 yards and one TD on only nine carries, and also threw for 192 yards and one touchdown. Jordan Barnett was another key player, rushing for 70 yards and a pair of scores.

Meanwhile, St. Stephens came up short against Freedom on Friday and fell 28-21. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

McDowell's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for St. Stephens, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

McDowell came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Stephens in their previous matchup back in March of 2021, sneaking past 21-18. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Indians' Zane Mcpherson, who threw for 147 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 55 yards and one TD.
