Softball Recap: Camas Takes a Loss

Camas extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 7-10 in the process. They lost 14-0 to the Skyview Storm. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Storm this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-3 last Tuesday.

As for Skyview, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Give their pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

For Skyview's part, Maddie Milhorn was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Milhorn has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addy Harmier, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Emma Kauffman was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one run.

Coincidentally, Camas and Skyview will both be playing Battle Ground the next time they take the field. The Storm will host the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Papermakers will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
