Softball Game Preview: Hughes Springs Mustangs vs. Gunter Tigers

The Hughes Springs Mustangs will face off against the Gunter Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Hughes Springs is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Malakoff 13-3. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their 23rd in a row.

26 must be Gunter's lucky number: they beat Ponder with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Tigers beat the Lions by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 26-6. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Hughes Springs' victory bumped their record up to 26-3. As for Gunter, their win bumped their record up to 24-9.
