West Muskingum waltzed into their contest on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 48-35 victory over the New Lexington Panthers. Given the Tornadoes' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Panthers are ranked 437th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, New Lexington still got an impressive performance from Chloe Dick, who posted 14 points. That was a full 40% of New Lexington's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Aaliyah Stanley was another key player, putting up nine points.

West Muskingum's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points per game. As for New Lexington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

West Muskingum wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 65-24 victory against Crooksville on the 22nd. New Lexington has also already played their next game, a 43-33 defeat against John Glenn on the 22nd.
