The Canterbury School Saints will venture away from home to face off against the Suffield Academy Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Canterbury School's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Suffield Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Canterbury School will head out to face Suffield Academy after giving up their first home loss of the season on Tuesday. The Saints fell 9-5 to Taft School.
Canterbury School got a good showing from Jack Jensen, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Seumas McMakin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Logan Martel was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Suffield Academy is ranked highly in their home state and on Wednesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Millbrook School. The Tigers fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 4-3. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Anthony Greco was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Rivera, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double.
The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 14-3. As for Suffield Academy, their record now sits at 8-6.
Everything went Canterbury School's way against Suffield Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2023, as Canterbury School made off with a 10-4 win. Will the Saints repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
