Softball Recap: South Umpqua Has No Trouble Against North Bend

South Umpqua was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against North Bend on Friday. The Lancers blew past the Bulldogs 13-1. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.

South Umpqua is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for North Bend, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

South Umpqua and North Bend will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Lancers will square off against rival Siuslaw at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, North Bend is set to challenge their familiar foe Cottage Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
