Recap: Legacy Christian Academy Knights vs. Northridge Polar Bears

The Legacy Christian Academy Knights waltzed into their matchup Friday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They wrapped up 2023 with a 44-30 win over Northridge. Given Legacy Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while Northridge is ranked 332nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Legacy Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ali Solomon, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Ava Combs, who scored 12 points along with three steals.

Legacy Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Northridge, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Legacy Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cedarville at 7:30 p.m. on January 8th. Cedarville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Northridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Milton-Union at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Milton-Union focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday.
