Softball Recap: Marvin Ridge Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Union Academy

Marvin Ridge faced Union Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Marvin Ridge came up short against Union Academy, falling 12-5. If the Mavericks were looking for revenge after losing 10-7 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Marvin Ridge's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2. As for Union Academy, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 13-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marvin Ridge will welcome Sun Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sun Valley has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.38 runs per game on average), something Marvin Ridge will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Union Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gray Stone Day at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
