Preview: Altoona-Midway Jets vs. Yates Center Wildcats

Altoona-Midway is 1-7 against Yates Center since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Altoona-Midway Jets will be playing at home against the Yates Center Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Altoona-Midway is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

After only two points in their last contest, Altoona-Midway made sure to put some points up on the board against Marmaton Valley on Friday. Altoona-Midway strolled past Marmaton Valley with points to spare, taking the game 58-44.

Altoona-Midway relied on the efforts of Jacob Meigs, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds, and William Stackhouse, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Stackhouse is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kieran Foster, who scored ten points along with five steals.

While Yates Center's victory against Chetopa wasn't quite the blowout they won the last time the pair played, they still came away the winners. Yates Center's defense stepped up to hand Chetopa a 2-0 shutout on Monday. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Yates Center has scored all year.

Altoona-Midway is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Yates Center, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-15.

Altoona-Midway came out on top in a nail-biter against Yates Center when the teams last played back in February of 2023, sneaking past 50-48. Does Altoona-Midway have another victory up their sleeve, or will Yates Center turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
