Soldotna waltzed into their match on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Homer Mariners. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-5 on Monday.

Juliet Innes was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bella Gares, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Soldotna pushed their record up to 9-1-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Homer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.

Coming up, Soldotna will take on Kenai Central in a tournament on Friday. Homer has already played their next contest (against West Anchorage), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
