Monterey Trail won the last time they faced McClatchy and things went their way on Monday too. The Monterey Trail Mustangs had just enough and edged out the McClatchy Lions 4-2.

Maya Ewing made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Ewing was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Liliana Ruelas was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Monterey Trail's record is now 2-3. As for McClatchy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monterey Trail will welcome Kennedy at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Kennedy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season. As for McClatchy, they will be playing at home against Union Mine at 4:00 p.m. on March 10th.
