Football Game Preview: Nixa Eagles vs. Lee's Summit Tigers

The Nixa Eagles will challenge the Lee's Summit Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Nixa is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Nixa is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Pattonville, posting a 45-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.

Jayden McCaster was his usual excellent self, rushing for 176 yards and three scores while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 135 rushing yards. Nixa also got a significant boost from Adam McKnight, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.

Another reason for the win was Nixa's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Jax Adams and Wyatt Isaacson, who racked up all four sacks between them. Isaacson also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six. Nixa got some further help from Reed Wilson: he made 11 total tackles and snagged an interception.

Meanwhile, Lee's Summit faced Jackson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Tigers came out on top against the Fighting Indians by a score of 35-28.

Nixa better keep an eye on Preston Hatfield. He was instrumental in Lee's Summit's win, rushing for 259 yards and four TDs.

Lee's Summit was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 318 rushing yards. They are 7-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Nixa's record is now 13-0. As for Lee's Summit, their record now sits at 9-4.

Saturday's contest might be decided on the ground. Nixa has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 283.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lee's Summit struggles in that department as they've been averaging 260.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
