Football Game Preview: Wakefield Wolverines vs. Broughton Capitals + Official Tickets

The Wakefield Wolverines will head out to take on the Broughton Capitals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wakefield is looking for their season's first win.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 62-7, which was the final score in Wakefield's tilt against Rolesville on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Rams are ranked 15th).

Meanwhile, Broughton took a blow against Millbrook on Friday, falling 42-7. The loss continues a trend for the Capitals in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost seven in a row.

Wakefield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Broughton, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Wakefield couldn't quite get it done against Broughton in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 as they fell 16-7. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Capitals' Xavier Howard, who rushed for 126 yards and one touchdown.
