Baseball Recap: Excel Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Excel Christian Academy extended their losing streak to eight on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 3-8 in the process. They came up short against Tyler HEAT, falling 14-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Tyler HEAT this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-0 last Friday.

Excel Christian Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was J. Wyatt Hoskins, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That double was Hoskins' first of the season.

As for Tyler HEAT, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-4. Considering they have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

On Tyler HEAT's side, they let John Sisco and Kelly Posada run wild. Sisco got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI, while Posada got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Posada is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Newbold, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As of now, neither Excel Christian Academy nor Tyler HEAT have any future games scheduled.
