Basketball Recap: Shenandoah Takes a Loss

If Shenandoah was riding high fresh off their 62-29 takedown of Shadyside last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Shenandoah Zeps fell 44-37 to the Monroe Central Seminoles on Wednesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Zeps this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 47-35 back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Shenandoah lost, don't look at Brenna Leach. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. Leach is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last eight games she's played.

Shenandoah has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season. As for Monroe Central, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shenandoah has already played their next matchup (against John Marshall), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Monroe Central will host Buckeye Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
