Southside scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against the Stuttgart Ricebirds, falling 76-56. The Southerners' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Stuttgart got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brooklyn Owens out in front who went 9-for-18 to rack up 24 points in addition to seven assists and six steals. Owens continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailey Bishop, who went 9-for-14 on her way to 23 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Southside's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Stuttgart, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, Southside and Stuttgart will both be playing Wynne the next time they take the court. Stuttgart will host Wynne at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Southside will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on February 21st.
