Basketball Recap: Wartburg Central Takes a Loss

Wartburg Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a blow against the Coalfield Yellow Jackets, falling 72-39. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 317th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 89th).

Wartburg Central's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Coalfield, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-5.

Wartburg Central will square off against Midway at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Coalfield has already played their next matchup (against Sunbright), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
