Baseball Recap: Geneva Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Geneva had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Romeoville Spartans, falling 8-2. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Geneva saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Toole, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That's the most hits Toole has posted since back in May of 2024.

Romeoville has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Geneva will host Bartlett at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Romeoville, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Chicago Mt. Carmel at 4:30 p.m.
