Softball Recap: Kirtland Central Takes a Loss

Kirtland Central suffered their biggest loss since April 23, 2024 on Saturday. They came up short against the Aztec Tigers, falling 18-8. If the Broncos were looking for revenge after losing 19-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tamirra Chee was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Rory Benally was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Kirtland Central's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Aztec, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season.

Kirtland Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-1 victory against Shiprock on the 1st. As for Aztec, they have also already played their next match, a 20-2 win against Bloomfield on the 1st.
