Basketball Recap: Raton Takes a Loss

Raton suffered their biggest defeat since February 20, 2024 on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 79-40 loss at the hands of the Pecos Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, with their most recent loss being a 56-48 defeat two weeks ago.

When it comes to explaining why Raton lost, don't look at Wyatt Berry. Despite the final result, he went 5-for-12 en route to 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Berry a new career-high in blocks (three). Cannon Walton was another key player, putting up seven points.

Raton's loss dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Pecos, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Raton nor Pecos have any future games scheduled.
