Basketball Recap: Sarah Defibaugh's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tygarts Valley over Tucker County

Tygarts Valley lost against Tucker County back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tygarts Valley Bulldogs received a blow as they fell 58-40 to the Tucker County Mountain Lions. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Tygarts Valley's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sarah Defibaugh, who posted 11 points. Defibaugh is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Summer Lewis-Smith, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Tygarts Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Tucker County, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.

Looking ahead, Tygarts Valley will square off against Harman at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Tygarts Valley is facing Harman at the right time seeing as Harman is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Tucker County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-55 win against Petersburg on the 14th.
